Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 22) — Authorities seized suspected illegal drugs worth around P8.5 million in Taguig Wednesday morning.
The contraband was found inside a unit at a high-end serviced apartment in Bonifacio Global City.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said the building’s security officers and manager reported the matter to the police after the discovery by the housekeepers of the unit.
The unit’s owner, Domingo Uy, was also arrested. Police said Uy has been renting the unit since December 2018.
Also recovered during the operation was cash worth ₱700,000 and checks totalling to millions of pesos.
Police are investigating the matter and are looking into the possible network and connections of Uy.
